Peter Kay

Maga is not an ice cream delicacy

in time they will say we lost touch
of the meaning of truth
those who shouted loudest
were believed
facts became shorthand
for their agenda
convenience reigned
some of us rebelled
and were labelled traitors
terrorists            non-conformers
others bent their heads
towards the sand

learned crows keep watch over our history
tell us we have been here before
each layer of humanity named
blamed persecuted and culled
not every crow can be stoned
nor can every human be conned
they are massing as we speak
working out how to help us

decipher truth from lies.
